We have some good news. VP records relaunched a Christmas classic, “VP Christmas. “ This compilation of classic holiday songs is remastered by legendary reggae artists as, Carlene Davis, Barrington Levy, Dean Fraser, Eek A Mouse, and Lady Saw. The inclusive playlist is bound to get everyone in the holiday mood and vibing back to work in 2018. Our favorite is saxophonist, Dean Fraser instrumental, “Holiday Medley.” VP Christmas is also a great last minute virtual stocking stuffer for those spending their Christmas away from family.
Life and music are about building relationships. However, we are often forced into being self centered by a world that demands us to move at lightning speed. This album is a stunning reminder to relax, regroup and refocus. Take a minute to reflect on the power of love and purpose when actions are relationship centered. Each of these featured musicians caused musical and social upheaval. In the end, Lady Saw, Dean Fraser, Eek A Mouse, and Byron Lee, broadened perspectives and increased inclusivity through music.
While these legends were focused on building their own legacy, they also prepared us to embrace the other to develop grime, raga, hip hop and tropical fusions. And as every rebel knows, forging a new path is not for the faint. But from a place of love, working to fulfill our purpose will always foster relationships and a good vibe feeling, even in years to come. VP Christmas remains relevant because we have come a long way, and this is worth celebrating. Cheers to a job well done and the inspiration to keep the success moving. More friends to add to the musical family to make the pot sweet!
