During Reggae month, on behalf of BBC Radio 1XTRA, Mista Jam is capturing art historical moments. One such treasured session is the documentation of the next generation of legendary artists. We are appreciative of Tuff Gong studio providing the social space that frames this movement of Chronixx and Koffee. This is restoring our faith in the evolutionary process.

First, Chronixx beams with pride as he takes the stage with Koffee. Leaping off the screen is the respect Chronixx has for her which, only increases our respect for him as a person and a performer. Like a true Rasta, Chronixx takes the role of a proud and supportive brethren. And, his band Zinc Fence, forwards with the same level of professionalism and citizenry. As such, the world must reflect the same level of respect towards this rising star.

With no ego, micro aggression, or competition insight, we are blessed by the creative partnership.

Chronixx delivery is flawless and smooth. And, although a newcomer, Koffee has the vocals and lyrical skills of most seasoned professionals. Her vocals and deejaying are a masterful approach of style and technique. We look forward to more great works from these two artists.

Second, we are once again reminded that reggae is not experiencing a revival. Rather, it is taking a step forward to a higher level. This is exactly what the legends want for the next generation of artists. They are not here to reinterpret the past, to maintain the status quo, or create a bricoloage of notable past works. Chronixx and Koffee understand that studying the past and adding another dimension is the key to bridging generations and extending the reach of reggae globally. Respect.
