Kumar, It's Alright

Kumar presents the first release, “It’s Alright,” from his forthcoming album. Released by VP Music Records December 7, 2018, the single is written by Kumar with production by Robert Livingston and Llamar "Riff Raff" Brown. Featured as a fusion of reggae and pop, “It’s Alright,” heralds a defining moment for reggae music and pop culture. And after listening to this song, we infer Kumar champions a win for the international community of music lovers.

Kumar is a talented lyricist, vocalist, and musician. And mobilizing his talents is a spirit of activism. Inherently a rebel himself, Kumar is intuitive to the mindset of the audience, especially the reggae resistance. The loyalist of the foundation music. But with pervading calm, Kumar planned for their discourse by penning lyrics that speak to their core beliefs and attitude, everything will be alright. As well, the production team and label own the same vision of expanding the reggae market while being emphatic towards the root and new audiences.

Arguably this introductory single is a high-level strategy. A soft melody. Neutrally reassuring and calm, a solution for the global family. Somewhat reminiscent in tonality of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Three Little Birds.” Certainly, Kumar stands firm in his own talent, delivery, and awareness of contemporary issues, therefore, we offer this comparison to the projected longevity of this song.

Music is an integrated space. In the context of art and economy, it is time for this truth to echo in investments and returns. As such, a song like “It’s Alright,” has great social and economic crossover with the pop market. A production that presents the credibility of reggae and reggae artists as Kumar to have an equal relationship with the pop market beyond that of a seasonal guest. To this point, the combined vocals and modified acoustic section with the guitar gives us an opportunity to identify Kumar’s depth of talent. It also suggests his ability to shift into the neo soul and jazz markets. So, we anticipate reciprocity in high numbers. Can’t wait for this album .
