When the media is flooded by images of delinquency in dancehall, it easily becomes a slippery slope into the belief that all is bad. Particularly among the youth culture, over the past few months we have been consumed by news concerning the violence on the street, drug addiction, and playground level gossip. We know all this gives some street credibility to the hustler’s anthem of dancehall.

Permitting a view from a different angle, let us not overlook the hard work that is the foundation of dancehall, the creativity and the culture. Respect to the hardworking artists. Each day they release productions that influence trends locally and internationally. Possessing a tireless work ethic, the word sleep is not apart of their mindset.

As for the culture, well, without the latest dance, the party is not so nice. As part of the global movement, choreographers and dancers from Jamaica are travelling all over the world to teach master classes. While there are many choreographers, which we will feature in the coming weeks, in this post we give respect to Chevoy Grant, Kool Ravers of the Ravers Clavers Dance Crew.

In 2017, Kool received the Prime Minister Youth Award. He is a key part of the next generation of young legends. Along with the team, Kool has an effortless style and a positive disposition that is reflected in every move. The dance crew collaborates with prominent artists as Chronixx. Their influential power is expansive. At a recent event he and the team along with artist, Ding Dong motivated the Prime Minster of Jamaica, Andrew Holness to join in on the fun. How about that for influential positivity?

See for yourself. Thanks to the video creator of this memorable footage.
