To speak of a reggae, dancehall, and afrobeat fusion, the first thought is a fast tempo rhythm that shakes down the roof and sinks the floor. Diamond Platnumz (Nasibu Abdul Juma), “Hallelujah,” featuring Morgan Heritage was a surprising treat. The song has a smooth hypnotic vibe. The refined blend of Diamond Platnumz Tanzania roots and Jamaica’s reggae melodies reminds of the legacy of both worlds. It is a teachable moment for mainstream musical lovers. It is time we learn afrobeat has a variety of styles. Zen Creatif, AG.
