Bunji Garlin,"Turn Up" is one of our favourite album. Impressively tapping into the current market's interest of crossover genres, yet, presenting the fusion to us in a new and unpredictable way.
As the market floods with Afro beat fused with dancehall, "Take Over Town.," delivers a refreshing hybrid of Afro beat, soca and tropical Latin vibe from Havana to Rio. Of particular interest are the hand drums and cow bells. Who can resist this rhythm?
The Message also captured our attention. The pop rock influence at the intro flows nicely through the EDM, reggae and rap arrangement. Featuring Damian Marley and his noteworthy crossover style wrapped up the entire arrangement into a clean and unstoppable chart topping song. This is definitely a Grammy worthy track.
The fourth track, "Road Brunx" deserves a quick mention as another unique production. Soca road march lyrics overlayed on an EDM rhythm while lowering the recording on the vocals? Therefore, the vocals sound like a strong bass instrument? Respect to the artist, the engineers, and the producers.
