The Emeterians: Brother Wildman, Sister Maryjane, and Maga Lion present their latest reggae single, Babylon Bridge, featuring Ky-Mani Marley. Released by VPAL Music with Stingray Records UK and Emeterians, February 15, this song is now available for download on all digital platforms.
Originating in 2004, Madrid, Spain, the Emeterians are the musical warriors of our time. And paired with the offspring of a warrior, Ky-Mani Marley, the son of Bob Marley, reflects the wealth of nations, harmony. Without this level of unification, all social and economic systems exploit the roots of development necessary to evolve humanity; love, respect, and creativity. At the center of it all is the ability to balance the power of creativity. And art is the most powerful life force in existence. Like a double edge sword, it can mobilize both war and peace depending on who is in control of the sword.
So, while the lyrics of Babylon Bridge relate the exploitation of a corrupt system, it also demonstrates the need for balance and wholeness. And this song is an authentic example of collaborative work. Every artist is well represented in their own dynamic form. And with a silent nod of respect to Marley, Ky-Mani’s vocals lead the way like a roaring lion. It is an excellent feature of the depth of Ky-Mani’s vocal range and tone. Although, we are not physically present during the meeting of the minds between The Emeterians and Ky-Mani, the level of respect shared between everyone is unique and organic. And as listeners we feel it.
It is a cool and settle vibe. A meditative anthem with a chanting melodic chorus and refrain. A level and rhythmic take on the roots of reggae music. The strings are fantastic. And the drums and cymbals interleave with precision, beautiful. It would be great to also have a dub rendition. And of course, hopefully we will see this live at Rototom 2019. More success to The Emeterians: Brother Wildman, Sister Maryjane, and Maga Lion and Ky-Mani Marley.
