Albert Einstein,The Logic of Education
Albert Einstein, 1921 By F. Schmutzer
"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." Einstein
The team of Creative Zen Creatif and Mimi value education. The academics of discipline, facts, research, and theory in formal education, as well, the practical thinking of life.
When we speak of the acclaimed school of life, street life, it is detached from the context of criminality. Rather it is the life lessons and its nuances learned through a lifeword of experiences. Situations of failures, setbacks, disruption, interference, and distractions we choose to use as lessons of empowerment. Our repositioning statement. And anyone on a mission to success will have more of these than the actual reward.
For many a people, these lessons are also learned from taking the seductive path through a life of crime. Which, just about every reformed or surviving person will throw a cautionary advisory that street life, the life of crime and high risk taking is a wolf in sheep clothing.
This also introduces an interesting perception concerning the evolution of character. With or without academia, eventually a conscientious and mindful person arrives at the same level of intelligence. Possibly it is the commitment to life and learning that connects the principals of academic and rational perceptions and behaviour which fosters success.
And what is the destructive force? How about when competitiveness represses creativity in the academia and rational sphere? While many suggest competitiveness is a necessary component of social and economic development, rarely do we discuss its place. Often, we perceive it as an external threat. But it may reside best as internal motivator that marks personal progress.
Because we can also argue that competitiveness is an indication of rigid thought. A stagnancy and lack of agility of the mind which, promotes siphoning from external developments, the fluidity of creativity. And it is this incongruity between the two that generates static in business and relationships. An indication are the frequent news feeds reporting breaches in security and intellectual property. But this is only what makes the news.
Today, we observe writings, statements, sounds, and images borrowed from others as common practice. When challenged, the rhetoric of being inspired by the works masks the offence. But this does not mean it is an ethical and legal approach. Also, in just about every sector, we are now operating as a global community where industries converge. So, eventually paths interconnect and the importance of relationship and business management becomes clear.
Best practice suggests managing credibility by developing a stock of knowledge. Compete within to maintain fluidity of creativity. Build relationship and business management skills by referencing the creative contributions of others. Act on the inspiration by contacting the author, artist, speaker, producers, broadcaster, and musician of these works. And when the paths intersect in the global village, time is spent collaboratively developing the social and economic well being of nations.
Like Einstein suggests, "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think."
